Business Success Stories

Schaumburg Veterinary Hospital

Timothy O'Toole's

In 1992, Humberto Martinez, Jr. opened O’Toole’s, a basement pub in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood. Shortly after opening, he formed a business partnership with Sara McKinnon. They eventually married and O’Toole’s became Streeterville’s neighborhood bar, with a large selection of beer and a varied menu of made-from-scratch food. In 2009, Humberto and Sara opened a second location in Gurnee. While seeking financing for a third location in downtown Libertyville, they met American Enterprise Bank Vice President, Commercial Lending Officer, Fred Baedorf. In addition to financing the new location, AEB offered a customized comprehensive package for their growing business, including a line of credit. Humberto and Sara attribute the open-mindedness, approachability and one-on-one attention of Fred and the AEB team with making their banking experience seamless and they are now focused on the opening of O’Toole’s in Libertyville in the spring of 2015.

Schaumburg Veterinary Hospital

After meeting in Veterinary School and building a life and business together, Doctors Jeff and Katie Bloomberg of Schaumburg Veterinary Hospital decided to relocate and expand their thriving practice in 2011. During that process, they met Senior Lender Todd Birch from American Enterprise Bank. With Todd’s assistance, Jeff and Katie switched their business accounts to American Enterprise Bank and refinanced the mortgage on their new location. With the reduced interest on their mortgage loan, and no fees on their Small Business Checking account, they have improved their monthly cash flow substantially. Additionally, they appreciate the friendly personal service they receive whenever they visit American Enterprise Bank, where everyone knows them by name.

Wisepak

Wisepak

In 1998, childhood friends Jung Pak and Greg Wiseman had the idea to take sushi out of the restaurant and directly to the people. In need of startup financing, they approached several banks with little success. At American Enterprise Bank, they were able to meet directly with the bank’s leadership who assisted them with a line of credit, a checking account with remote deposit and eventually an SBA loan to build out their facility. 15 years later, Jung and Greg’s company, Wisepak, provides sushi to most of the area’s top universities, hospitals and Fortune 500 companies. As Wisepak’s business continues to grow, so has their financial partnership with American Enterprise Bank.
